I have never posted in here before but I was online searching for a way to reach more people who knew Phyllis. My name is Beth and I am the girlfriend of Phyllis' nephew Brian. we were all blindsided with grief over loosing such a beautiful spirit. I am also a small business owner here in Memphis and my company has gotten together with Marlow's Restaurant and St. Jude and we are organizing a Phyllis Presley Collas Memorial St. Jude Charity Auction at Marlow's on August 11. St. Jude was a charity very close to Phyllis' heart and I KNOW she would be very excited about this. This auction will feature hand signed Memphis/Elvis inspired framed photography, Sun Studio 45's autographed by Jerry Lee Lewis, Autographed records from Sonny Burgess and the Pacers, autographs from beloved Elvis guitar player, James Burton and lots more. Sun Studio will be donating some merchandise and tour tickets.We are trying to negotiate Gibson to donate an authentic Memphis made Gibson guitar as the crowing jewel. Plus we will be auctioning some of Phyllis' personal Elvis collection for St. Jude. 100% of the proceeds have been promised to St. Jude all in Phyllis' name. If we can raise $1000 for them, they will put her name on a plaque at St. Jude in her honor. THAT'S the goal. There will likely be live music as well as a silent auction, great Marlow's food and an open forum to share memories and stories about Phyllis and of course Elvis. The items in the auction will be themed heavily in Memphis/ Elvis/ Music. Please pass this information along TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW that will be in Memphis for Elvis Week and was a friend of Phyllis'. This is a GREAT opportunity to get together and celebrate Phyllis and raise money for a charity that she loved so very much. We are going to try to get EPE to add this event to the Elvis Week 2008 calendar but any kind of additional promotion would be greatly appreciated.
